1. What we collect

  • When you message us on WhatsApp: your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, the messages you send us, and details you choose to share: your name, whether you are a student or a parent, college, branch, year and city.
  • How you found us: if your first message contains a code from one of our videos or this website, we note it so we know which video or page brought you to us.
  • Your choices: whether you agreed to receive programme updates, and whether you opted out.
  • This website: we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.

We never ask for Aadhaar, bank details, passwords or OTPs on WhatsApp. Please don’t send them.

2. Why we use it

  • To answer your questions about The Human Job and connect you with a counsellor.
  • To arrange counselling calls and, if you choose to enrol, the enrolment process.
  • To send you batch updates, only if you said yes. Reply STOP at any time and we stop immediately.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which of our videos and pages help students find us.

3. Our WhatsApp assistant

When you message us, the first replies come from an AI assistant that answers only from information about our programme. It uses Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. If you ask for a person, or your question needs one, a human counsellor from our team takes over. You can ask to talk to a person at any time.

These providers process data only to provide their services to us. We don’t sell your personal data or share it with employers or advertisers.

If you enrol: programme delivery

Enrolled students use FreshLearn for course content and GitHub for engineering work, evidence and peer review. Selected assessment and review interactions, such as end-of-assignment defenses, may be recorded or transcribed and evaluated against the published competency rubric, with low-confidence or high-stakes results reviewed by a person. For students who join through a partner college, progress and competency reports may be shared with that college under the institutional delivery agreement. Enrolled students receive full details in a privacy notice at enrolment.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records only as long as we need them to answer you and follow up, and then delete them. If you enrol, your records are kept as long as needed for the programme and for legal and tax requirements. If you opt out, we keep only your number on a do-not-message list so we can respect that choice.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
  • ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (for updates, just reply STOP);
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights if you are unable to;
  • raise a grievance with us, and if it isn’t resolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp (+91 83746 12446) or email the Grievance Officer below.

7. Students under 18

The Human Job is for final-year engineering students, who are usually 18 or older. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

8. Security

Access to enquiry records is limited to our team members who need it. Data is encrypted in transit, and our systems’ credentials are stored securely.
